Kids of Ilocos!

Here is my first “concious” attempt to take portraits of kids. Most of it were taken after a kid’s birthday party in Ilocos where they become quite restless! I had a difficult time capturing their genuine expressions because they were so mobile and because of the digicam’s “shutter lag” (the time between pressing the shutter and when the image is actually taken), the images always came out blurred. Here are the good pieces, however.
Below is my first attempt to do “panning” – the subject is captured against background in motion.

Pro’s always say that kids are one of the best subjects especially when their image conveys a statement, such as an invitation, to eat! This may be a good example.

This may not be candid, but this is one of my better kid’s portrait shot:

To hope means to be ready at every moment for that which is not yet born, and yet not become desperate if there is no birth in our lifetime.

Isn’t it ever…there’s no place like home. I am sure that a lot of Filipinos just want to get over the rat race we are in in the West and finally give ourselves some R & R.

For me,it has been 19 years;and have been home a handful of times, each of them two weeks. And how much can you squeeze in in two weeks? I mean, really…

The innocence of children..priceless! The black and white is a real winner.
